The match, held in Monaco, was decided by an own goal from midfielder Denis Zakaria in the 72nd minute. Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin started for the home side and was substituted in the 59th minute.
With just one game remaining in the season, Monaco sits in seventh place with 54 points, while Lille climbs to third with 61 points. The defeat mathematically eliminates the Monegasques from contention for a Champions League spot.
