The Korean Derby continues for a second straight day as San Francisco Giants’ Lee Jung-hoo and Los Angeles Dodgers’ Kim Hye-seong face off again in the starting lineup.
The Giants and Dodgers are set to clash once more on April 13 (KST) at Dodger Stadium in California, following their previous day’s matchup. Lee Jung-hoo will once again start as the leadoff hitter and right fielder, while Kim Hye-seong is penciled in as the ninth-place hitter and second baseman. This marks the second consecutive Korean face-off in this series.
In the previous game on April 12, San Francisco dominated Los Angeles with a 9-3 victory. The Giants’ lineup pounded out 12 hits and drew eight walks, overwhelming the Dodgers’ pitching staff. Lee Jung-hoo went 1-for-5 with a single in the seventh inning and reached base on a hit-by-pitch in the ninth, scoring one run. Kim Hye-seong, starting as the ninth hitter and second baseman, went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before being replaced by pinch-hitter Miguel Rojas in the sixth inning. His season batting average dropped slightly to .282. It was a clear win for Lee in this head-to-head battle.
Looking to bounce back, the Dodgers will send Japanese right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound on April 13. The Giants will counter with right-hander Adrian Houser as their starter.
