Kamaru Usman: Khamzat Chimaev Has a One-Dimensional Style, a Clear Plan to Beat Him Now Exists

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman shared his analysis of Khamzat Chimaev’s loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 328 in Newark, New Jersey. That fight, which served as the main event, ended with Strickland winning by split decision and becoming the new UFC middleweight champion, taking the belt from Chimaev.

“Nothing changes in Khamzat’s style—there’s no variety, it’s one-dimensional. That’s what hurts him. Looking at his fight with Gilbert Burns, our fight, and now this bout with Sean Strickland, I think there is now a clear plan on how to beat a fighter like Khamzat Chimaev. The fact that he has advanced this far by training just one aspect of mixed martial arts is crazy,” Usman said on the Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry YouTube channel.
