Visma-Lease a Bike has announced the eight riders who will support Jonas Vingegaard in his quest for a first Giro d’Italia victory, starting Friday. The squad includes American Sepp Kuss (31), Belgian Victor Campenaerts (34), and Dutchman Wilco Kelderman (35), all tasked with helping the Danish star claim the maglia rosa in Rome on May 31.
The team released a video on social media confirming the lineup, with the clear goal of guiding Vingegaard to the top step. The 29-year-old has already won three Grand Tours: two Tour de France titles (2022, 2023) and the 2025 Vuelta a España. Kuss, the 2023 Vuelta champion, will serve as the main lieutenant, while Kelderman—third in the 2020 Giro—and Campenaerts bring valuable experience.
Italian climber Davide Piganzoli, at 23, adds youthful energy. Dutch rider Bart Lemmen, along with Belgians Timo Kielich and Tim Rex, complete the roster.
Vingegaard is the favorite to win the Italian Grand Tour, with UAE Team Emirates—missing Tadej Pogacar and Isaac Del Toro—set to be led by British rider Adam Yates.
